Purpose:
The purpose of our
Sunday School (SS) program is to nurture the process of Christian
growth
It is also our objective to maintain an outreach and evangelism ministry into the surrounding communities, by sharing the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ with all people.
In addition to our providing sound basic Christian education, SS is also a very good evangelism tool in witnessing to our family, friends and neighbors. Our Lord, in one of his commands, tell us to "Go Teach". Therefore, we encourage our students to spread the Good News of Salvation and bring their un-churched friends to SS and church to learn about God.
Organization:
The Sunday School (SS) program is operated under the direct authority of Trinity Memorial's Board of Education.
Our staff, which includes teachers, substitutes, parent helpers, Secretary and Superintendent,
among others, number approximately 25 very dedicated volunteers. Staff meetings are
conducted monthly.
Parent helpers are always needed when the SS plans activities outside of the regular SS time.
If you would be willing to help in this capacity, please see your child's teacher or the
Superintendent.
Visitors and Enrollment:
We encourage and joyfully welcome all guests and visitors that our SS or congregation
members bring.
Parents are also encouraged to sit in on their child's class at any time. Each year we set aside
a parent visitation day for this purpose.
Children and adults may enroll in our SS program at any time during the year by attending the
class which corresponds to their school grade. Students are automatically enrolled by our SS
Secretary after attending three times.
Special Events and Socials:
At various times throughout the school year activities are held to commemorate holidays,
functions and annual events that are sponsored by SS. Included in our activities are social
events that involve the family and entire congregation and we strongly advocate complete
family participation as it can only enhance and cultivate healthy family growth.
All student birthdays are acknowledged during our opening on the last Sunday of the month
for all birthdays that month. Each student is recognized, allowed to pick a small gift from our
supply; and then all students sing happy birthday to all our birthday recipients. This, we feel,
shows the love and care that we have for each and every one.
The baptism date of each SS student will be celebrated in a special opening the last Sunday of
each month. We encourage all students to know their baptism date. A small gift is given to
each student and a special baptismal song is sung to celebrate the day each child was brought
into God's family through holy baptism.
Adult Bible Class:
Adult Bible Class is held each Sunday at 10:20 a.m. in the Church Conference room. All
adults 18+ are invited to join!
