Carolyn Bailey Grugel was baptized and confirmed at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Gary. She graduated from Tolleston H.S. and earned a B.S. in elementary education from IU. She taught many piano and organ students for years to help pay for schooling. As suggested by her organ instructors, she plays the organ in other churches to study several denominations and their musical styles.
Through the years, Carolyn has enjoyed playing the organ at Griffith Lutheran, Peace in Schererville, Grace in Dyer and Redeemer in Highland. She is a charter member of the Northwest Indiana Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
Cantata rehearsals will begin on Sunday, November 1st at 6:30 pm. If you have always wanted to sing in the choir but could not make Wednesday evening rehearsals, now's the time to join and participate in this glorious musical celebration of Christ's birth. The voicing for the cantata is soprano, also and baritone. Many voices are especially encouraged to participate.

The Handbell Choir at
Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church began in 2000 when a memorial contribution purchased a three octave
set of Malmark Handbells. Another memorial contribution purchased a three octave set of hand chimes in 2005. the group
consists of 11 ringers. Alternate ringers are always needed to fill vacancies as well as to train to become a permanent part of
the group. The handbell choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings 7:50 - 9:00 p.m. September through May. Persons from
high school age on are invited to join. You don't need to know how to read music to ring a handbell, just have a good sense
of rhythm!
On the 4th Sunday of each month the congregation participates in a more contemporary style worship experience. The service is liturgical as all services are, but more contemporary hymns are used and are accompanied by guitar. Our music ministry strives to minister to all ages.
