Pastor's Monthly Letter

October, 2014

So I wake up this morning to hear on the radio, that once more, we are at war. With whom I'm still not exactly sure. My understanding is that we are bombing the Islamic State in Syria. This is not the nation, the leadership or the people of Syria we are at war with. We are at war with a sect of fundamentalist Islamic radicals who are fighting for the formatin of an Islamic Caliphate (Empire). They are made up of a multi-national coalition of primarily Shiite Muslims who have made it clear that the United States and western values are the great enemies of Islam. Whether or not we in the United States recognize this, or agree with that world view, we must confront that a significant number of Islamists are sympathetic or supportive of that ideology.
